X - and how it is becoming X'ed
Very ironically, X is X'ed.
It feels funny to kickstart the newsletter with a post about the platform that is feeding you, doesn’t it?
Well, not for me. If you have heard of the expression: “biting the hand that feeds you”, that is what is going on here.
It is very clear that X, formerly Twitter, was already an important platform not just for sharing news, but also for shaping global opinion. And it still is important like that.
The problem is when you have bots running on the platform doing the things that humans are supposed to do.
You see, with the advent of AIs like ChatGPT, Meta AI, Copilot, Gemini and others, it has become 10x easier for somebody to spread misinformation if they wanted to.
That’s because they are no longer limited by the amount of time they spend tapping away with their fingers, like how I’m doing right now. This article is proudly not AI-generated.
So that’s where it’s all heading currently. To a future where people are being influenced by the opinions of many different robots, all controlled by a few people.
Take of that what you will. But I am not happy with this state at all.
Most of the regular people have already stopped using X, so I guess the only people who will be left at the end are going to be the bots and the gullible.
And yes, that includes myself. Ironic isn’t it?
